For those of you who have kids who don't especially enjoy reading this list may be particullarly useful to you.  Half the battle to getting them to read is finding something they would enjoy reading.  Take a look at our list of recommended reading.  Hopefully it will help!

Cool Books!

The "Wild Wheels!" series of books will be sure to get your Hot Rod Kid reading AND learning!  There is something for everyone in this informative series.

We really liked the the color photos, "Wild Facts" throughout, and the Glossary of terms in the back.  Great information and easy reading for your youngster.

Cool Series!

We love this series for its great reference material!  The kids will learn from the easy to read text, and the great pictures.  It really shows the evolution of the big three automakers.  These books don't appear to be geared specifically towards kids or adults, however, they are perfect for anyone who wants to learn the different body styles and/or years.

We also highly recommend these books for anyone who is looking for a birthday, holiday, or Father's Day gift for an auto enthusiast from a Hot Rod Kid!  These books are a really great way to share knowledge, memories, and a love for cars!

We picked this book up at the Henry Ford Museum, in Dearborn, Michigan.  What a great book for your 1st-3rd grader to learn the history of the automobile.  I believe this book has been the object of a  few school book reports at our house.  Well written, informational, and most importantly, will keep your youngster reading!

A great book for those kids who love all kinds of cars, not just the classics.  Also for the 1st - 3rd grade readers, this book covers a variety of automobiles from the beginning to the future of the car industry.  Excellent pictures!

Tuner Cars - what can we say?  Kids love them, and teenages pump tons of money into them.  They have definately taken their place in the automotive enthusiast world.

This book informs its readers of the history of tuners.  It has a great glossary in the back, along with some web sites to get more information on this industry.

Our boys aren't exactly into tuners but they still enjoyed this book.

Do you have a Pinewood Derby coming up?  Want to improve on last year's, less than stellar, design and performance?  This book will help you do just that.  Everything you need to know regarding design, regulation compliance, and how to put a great paint job together is in this book!

Don't attempt another Pinewood Derby without it!

Fun Book!  Great gift idea for any kid who has ever wondered about authomobiles and how they work.  If you are looking for automotive entertainment over education, then this is the book you are looking for.  It is all about imagination!

Great story and illustrations.  Our boys, ages 6 - 11 yrs, all enjoyed this book.

What a wonderful how-to draw book!  This is more for the ten years of age and up crowd.  Even the adults in our family have used this book to creat just the right car and/or creature.

Excellent reference book when looking for some creative motivation!
